Marilyn was welcomed into the St. Andrew's community on Ash Wednesday in 2023. She feels fortunate to have found a home here among a vibrant group of Christian disciples. In October 2023, she was invited to take on some administrative work in the parish office and is enjoying this role and its opportunities to contribute to parish life.
While new to St. Andrew's, Marilyn is not new to Anglicanism. She has served and learned in many volunteer and paid roles in the Anglican church and at Renison University College over the years.
When not involved in parish activities, Marilyn enjoys facilitating discussion groups at a retirement home, an activity that also feeds her curiosity and enthusiasm for life long learning. She revels in outdoor activities such as hiking and canoeing, and creative pursuits such as painting and jewelry making.
Central to whatever she does is the desire to live a life of ongoing conversion and transformation leading to an increased capacity to love God, self and others. "This is what the Lord asks of you, only this, to act justly, to love tenderly, and to walk humbly with your God". ~ Micah 6:8
