A Letter from the Rev’d Canon Rob Towler to the Parish

Dear Friends:

I want to thank you all …

First and foremost for these past twenty years, and the honour of being your Rector. We have been through so much, and together have accomplished so much. I am proud of all the outreach opportunities we addressed, and my hope is that you will continue on in these – because our community is counting on us to meet this need.

I thank-you for welcoming the Towler family into your hearts and homes. This is the only church family our children remember, and it has been a good experience for them. We have been blessed by our time with you, and will hold the memories close.

Finally, I thank you for the “send-off” this past Sunday. It was not easy for any of us to say goodbye (let alone as quickly as we had to), but I was deeply touched by your messages of hope and blessing as we enter into the next chapter of life.

To the 8:00 congregation, thank-you for helping me start every Sunday on the right foot. Your love and compassion for one another is evident, and many of you have commented on how your faith and church family has carried you through some difficult times in your life … I know this will continue. Thank you also for the beautiful reception on Sunday …
bacon might not solve all of life’s problems, but it certainly helped. And thank you all for your very generous gift!!!

To the 10:00 congregation, thank you for being you. I believe you are also what the church is meant to be. As diverse as we are, we stand together united by our common faith – loving one another despite our differences – and working together to serve the world around us. This is our shared ministry. I thank you for your special congregational anthem on Sunday, and the message it proclaimed, as well as the cake, collection, and cards filled with your blessings and good wishes.

As of November 11th I may no longer be your priest – but I will always be your friend, and we will always think of the people of St. Andrew’s as “our family”.

Our prayers go with you as you enter into the next stage of your life together.

Blessings!

Rob, Camie, Bronte, Kennedy, and Brock
